Artesian at the Langham Hotel

With an extensive and impressive champagne list Artesian at The Langham Hotel also boasts the largest and most impressive selection of rums anywhere in the city. The cocktail menu is inventive and contains the bar’s signature punch as well as some more traditional cocktails you can’t fail but recognise.

Dukes

Once the haunt of Ian Fleming the creator of James Bond, 007 would not look out of place at the bar today, ordering his signature martini. Fleming is believed to have thought of the famous ‘shaken not stirred’ line whilst drinking martini here at the bar. Guests even have the opportunity to take part in their own martini master class.

Good Godfrey’s

Full of 1920s glamour Good Godfrey’s is located at the Waldorf Hilton, on The Strand, right in the heart of the theatre district. It is the ideal place to stop either before a show or after for drinks. The mixologist here has won awards for his inventiveness and you simply must try the hot gin punch quirkily served in a teapot to share.

Mahiki

Mahiki draws the rich and famous through its doors. Unlike other cocktail bars in the city this one offers a little South Pacific ambience alongside its extensive cocktail list. One of the more quirky menu items is the Treasure Chest which is a delectable mixture of fine spirits and champagne, served in a quirky wooden treasure chest.

The OXO Tower Bar

On the top floor of what was once the OXO offices the OXO Tower Bar offers patrons incredible views over the city. From here you get a fantastic view of the river and St Paul’s Cathedral. The cocktail list reflects the theme of the bar very well with drinks like ‘London Skyline’ and ‘Room with a View’ on the cocktail list.

The Beaufort Bar

Located at the Savoy Hotel this has to be one of the most elegant drinking establishments in the whole of London. The décor is plush in black and gold in a perfect art deco style. The bar is located on what was once the cabaret stage where the likes of George Gershwin once entertained the stylish guests of the Savoy.

Bourne & Hollingsworth

Small and quaint, this little cocktail bar has managed to encapsulate a bygone era, with its floral walls, vintage table ware and classic but evocative cocktail list. They hold regular retro themed events such as Blitz and Prohibition parties. If you are wondering about the name, the name has been taken from an old department store that once stood in the West End, another glance back to a bygone time.
